At Fortis College – Phoenix, students can choose from programs in Medical Assisting, Dental Assisting, Medical Business & Clinical Specialist, and Medical Billing and Coding.

Medical Assisting (Diploma)

Fortis College offers a diploma for Medical Assistant in 76.5 credits. Graduates of the Medical Assistant – Diploma program are prepared to take the national certification examination for Medical Assistance through the National Center for Competency Testing.

As Medical Assistants work in doctors’ offices, hospitals, and clinics in a number of ways, they are trained in both administrative and technical aspects of the job. Part of the educational experience at Fortis College is an externship during which students are able to work hands-on in the field to prepare for career success.

Medical Billing and Coding (Diploma)

If you’re interested in a career that deals with compliance with medical regulations and insurance requirements, in addition to maintaining the records of patients, the Medical Billing and Coding Diploma from Fortis College – Phoenix might be perfect for you.

In addition to enhancing the technical skills learned in the medical assisting diploma program the AOS in Medical Business and Clinical Specialist degree program also expands in the areas of management and professional development.

Dental Assisting (Diploma)

A Diploma course of study, the Dental Assistant program at Fortis College combines classroom and clinical experiences in order to give graduates the skills they need to seek entry-level employment as a dental assistant.

In addition to being required to take and successfully pass the national certification examination for Dental Assistants (RDA) administered through American Medical Technologists (AMT), students learn about chair-side procedures, ordering dental supplies, cleaning/polishing equipment, sterilizing and disinfecting, and patient prep.
