About UEI College

For over 25 years, UEI College has offered specialized career training diploma programs for students interested in Business, Healthcare, Computer Technology, and Dental Assisting. With 13 campuses in the state of California and 1 in Georgia, UEI offers a variety of educational choices and opportunities for students looking to enter the competitive employment world.

Students may enroll in diploma programs that take around 8 or 9 months for completion or Associate of Applied Science Degree Programs that are intended to last 16th months. The college’s mission statement is to “prepare students for employment by providing industry-validated education and training within a positive, supportive, and caring environment.”

Dental Assistant

The Dental Assistant program at UEI is intended to help students get started within a dental office and prepare them to handle a patient’s visit and assist the dentist during procedures. Students have the opportunity to learn about patient care and education.

Students in the Dental Assistant Program may possibly obtain their diploma within 8 months and may gain expertise in the following areas:

• Preparing and placing instruments for dental procedures
• Handling patient records
• Prepping dental patients
• Instructing patients in oral healthcare techniques and practices
• Sterilizing and disinfecting dental tools and equipment
• Assisting dentists during dental exams and procedures
The Dental Assistant Program at UEI College is offered at 10 of the school’s Southern California locations.

Medical Assistant

Within UEI College’s Medical Assisting diploma program, you could  learn how to work with people within the field,  handle medical charts and records, and work comfortable in the medical office environment. Possible learned skills include:

  • Taking patients’ vital signs
  • Collecting specimens
  • Instructing patients in healthcare practices
  • Taking medical histories from patients
  • Informing patients about what happens during exams and procedures
  • Preparing exam rooms and equipment

Just 5 miles from downtown San Diego, Chula Vista means “beautiful view” and exists in between the San Diego Bay front and the foothills of the coastal mountains. Chula Vista is the second largest city in San Diego County with a population of around 250,000.
