About American Career College
American Career College was originally founded in 1978 as American College of Optics, with very specialized training. Thirty years later, the school has branched out into a variety of areas, and the name was changed in 1993 in order to reflect that. The school is proud of their facilities and the fact that they offer career placement assistance to all of their graduates.
American Career College offers several tracks to prepare students for a variety of different paths in health care. Most programs are intensive and last eight to ten weeks.

Massage Therapy (Diploma)

Balancing theoretical and clinical coursework, the Associate Degree in Occupational Studies in Respiratory Therapy program at American Career College prepares graduates to seek entry-level employment in this exciting career field.
Training in this program includes respiratory procedures, medical gas therapy, critical care monitoring, rehab & home health care, and respiratory pharmacology. In addition, students will learn about adult mechanical ventilation, adult cardiopulmonary pathophysiology, and neonatal/pediatric mechanical ventilation.
Vocational Nursing (Diploma)
The Vocational Nursing Program at ACC is a ten-month program. After graduation, students are ready to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN), which ensures they meet the standards of the Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians. Once certified, they are able to gain entry-level positions in hospitals (in-patient and out-patient), clinics, home health and extended care facilities.
In this program, students learn about such things as anatomy and physiology, medical surgical nursing, newborn and child care, pharmacology and infectious diseases. Students graduate with a certificate of completion instead of an associate degree. All of the courses in this program are specifically focused on nursing related skills. General studies courses like history and geography are not offered in this program. No online courses are offered. All classes are held on campus.
